Associate Director, Counselor Relationship Management – Western PA

The Associate Director is responsible for initiatives that support School Counselors within targeted areas in support of College Board services.  The Associate Director will develop deep and meaningful relationships with members of the Counseling community in order to deliver opportunities to all students.  

This is a term position through December 31, 2018. Candidates who live near or are able to commute to Western PA regularly are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with state/territory counselor relationship management team members to drive a thoughtful, integrated and effective set of strategies to build positive, meaningful and supportive relationships with counselors. 
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of counselor needs, priorities and issues for the  assigned state/territory within the region.
  • Partner with assessment program and SDP colleagues to develop a deep understanding of College Board assessments and related operational tools and resources; proactively support counselors with program and operational changes, in collaboration with program staff.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to inform outreach to counselors, sharing direct feedback from the market to optimize our efforts.
  • Foster strong relationships with counselors through direct, in person outreach. 
  • Proactively communicate about College Board assessments and related tools and resources and deliver a high level service to meet the broad needs of counselors, including operational      information, trouble shooting and resolving key issues, delivering      presentations, etc. 
  • Develop interim performance measures and day-to-day tracking tools and resources to manage team      performance and progress.  Provide regular reporting and updates to key internal stakeholders to share progress and key learnings.
  • Plan and conduct comprehensive and /or customized workshops and presentations for counselors, in the assigned state/territory.
  • Design and execute targeted strategies to meet program/initiative goals
  • Collaborate with SDP colleagues to utilize SalesForce and other relevant CRM systems to drive and monitor counselor relationship management goals. Align efforts, as appropriate, with K-12 team members to leverage existing school-based relationships.
  • Utilize various College Board sources to access, compile and analyze data to support work with counselors, ability to identify the best appropriate data source to use in different situations

PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS 

Internal Contacts:  Maintains contact with staff within the region and department in order to collaborate to produce work, delegate work assignments, and to ensure that performance is meeting set goal. Establish relationships with program staff as appropriate to complete assigned tasks.

External Contacts:  Establishes and maintains deep relationships with leadership and key decision makers in assigned accounts; relevant organizations and/or associations; and Regional Governance members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Five years of directly-related, progressively responsible work experience in a managerial or professional position in education or a related field. Direct experience in assessment, curriculum, or student achievement initiatives is strongly preferred.
